I would like to officially announce how excited I am for the Where the Wild Things Are movie. Even the trailer is amazing! There are so many factors that seem to be so right for the film. Spike Jonze, Arcade Fire, Karen O, Jim Henson Company, Catherine Keener, and Paul Dano, to name just a few. I hope it can live up to my expectations.

How the Grinch Stole Christmas the movie sucked, but the cartoon was awesome. And the book is wonderful of course. Two classics here, but ultimately you’ve got to pick one.

And while we’re on the subject of children’s books, I’ve got one for you to check out. It’s called Rose and the Bald-Headed Elephant by Wooley Cottswold. It is an amazing, sweet story that incorporates themes such as friendship and self-esteem. Why does it seem so rare these days to see children’s books that can provide such a positive message without being bathetic? Well I’m predicting Rose and the Bald-Headed Elephant to be a classic! Oh and the illustrations are incredible. It is new and we are trying to get the word out, so tell your friends, and while you’re at it pre-order a copy at Barnes and Noble here. Or call your favorite bookstore and tell them you want it (the ISBN is 9780977906406) NOW!-I mean August 1st.
