Can’t answer this one. Knives need to go down, all else goes up. This decision involves utility and safety, as it is uneconomic and consequently unreasonable to place spoons and forks down, which would yield a clogging of space. It is unsafe to place knives up, butter or stake alike. If you stab yourself with a fork, get rid of your two-prongs for a more traditional four-prong; I promise they are innocuous. It’s simple logic that dissuades me from making the black and white, all or none choices. It is this reasoning that separates the thinkers from the numb, the liberals from the conservatives, the wheat from the chafe, respectively.
