What are you more scared of?

I love scary stories, movies, etc. I love getting scared. Did anyone else do “Bloody Mary” growing up? I’m still scared of mirrors because of that. Why would we do that? Gail de Vos sheds some light:
“So why do children continue to summon Bloody Mary, flirting with danger and possible tragedy? The ages between 9 and 12 are labeled “the Robinson age” by psychologists. This is the period when children need to satisfy their craving for excitement by participating in ritual games and playing in the dark. They are constantly looking for a safe way to extract pleasure and release anxiety and fears.”
Ah, now I see.
Anyone have any scary stories?

I am absolutely terrified of Aliens. Every night when I walk into my bedroom I fully expect to see an Alien standing there waiting to abduct me and forget about opening the blinds at night. I know that one will be there staring back at me if I do.
I am super intrigued by ghosts and hauntings and what not but I am terrified by aliens; but more of the whole invading society and taking over the world than a one-on-one or an abuduciton. I always have these vivid dreams where some crazy battle is going down and I’m standing between the army and the aliens just frozen in fear. What does that dude you mentioned say about that? Also I’m a total sucker for lame movies that I normally would snob out on like Signs and War of the Worlds.
Is Dan H. still way scared of Aliens?
Ghosts for sure! I thought this would be 100% votes for ghosts.
You know my ghost story. Aliens don’t shut the balcony door to leave my husband locked outside, ghosts do.
But i’m sure some ghosts are nice.
Apparently, I have (had) a gift for “light as a board, stiff as a feather”. Ghosts all the way.
Aliens scarred me more as a little kid, now I may lean towards Ghosts–pretty much even for me though.
Ah Bloody Marry and all the other things we did to scare ourselves, good times.
Remember the Nintendo going fuzzy, the tape rolling and turning a perfect corner and then the door slamming shut? That there was strange.
I voted aliens, to be sure. I thought that you would too, Brad.
Aliens, Dan? I don’t get it. Were you abducted years ago? It would explain a lot. Like why you are doing 2 masters program. They must of done something to your brain to make you smarter or something.
I have never heard a real life alien story because THEY DON’T EXIST.
But ghosts, my friends, that shit is scary.
In 5th grade i read the entire Dewey Decimal Section of my elementary school libary about the occult. I loved getting freaked out.
In highschool I had a friend that made bombs to entertain us – this is pre 9/11 people times were different. After soccer games we’d go blow-up portapotties, math teachers’ mail boxes etc.
One evening we drove through a dirt road on an old cemetery, and somebody in the back of the mini-van says (just kidding of course) “hey we should blow up a grave.”
Before he finished his sentence, the car cut-out. Died. Wouldn’t start. The usually cool driver started yelling, “it never does this, it never does this!” Everybody started yelling.
I was dying laughing, and still think it was one of the most entertaining moments of my life. It was sitcom perfect timing.
Eventually the car started again. But we never drove through the cemetery after that.
Correct me if I’m wrong, I haven’t been to church in ten years, but don’t Mormons belive that you can create other worlds which would have other people on it which would make it a fact that there are other planets with aliens on them? That fact is what freaks me out. Also, have you seen UFO Hunters on the History channel. They have some pretty freaky stories on there.
ghosts are definitely scariest. scary movies really f@$% me up.
dan has never ever mentioned this alien thing to me…he does, however, stay up late googling ghost stories.
if ghosts are out there, the worst things they ever do are move people’s stuff around at night, and little antics like that. if they had bodies, we would just call them annoying people.
if alien stories are true, they rape and impregnate women with little aliens and probe men with long tools. if aliens were human, we would call them rapists, masochists, stalkers and kidnappers.
Did anyone ever read Jay’s Journal. That book was scary…and fake. Dan, good point about the ghosts. But you’re thinking of poltergeists. They just play tricks. What about the ghosts in The Amityville Horror? They’ll muck you up. Yeah, so Mormons believe in aliens, right?
“Mormons don’t believe in aliens. Or dinosaurs. Read the bible.”
That is what one of my sign language teachers said to me. I don’t think you had the pleasure of having her.
[...] What are you more scared of? Ghosts or Aliens? 69% of you are more afraid of ghosts. I think having an alien experience would be scarier, but I feel like I’m more likely to see a ghost so I’m ultimately more scared of that happening. Does anyone remember Casper the Friendly Ghost’s brother, Jasper? What a jerk. [...]
